287 D Nib Gothic

This heavy, emphatic alphabet is made by writing basic Gothic with a Speedball D nib pen.  Its difference from a sharply broad-edged nib isn't obvious at first, but it grows on you.

  1. I just found your blog! I didn't know you were active online. so great. I've had your Calligraphy Alphabets Made Easy book for decades and I've bought so many copies for friends. I've recently gone back to using it to calligraph for my list of jobs for the day. it's fun working through it properly! looking forward to going through all your old posts :) have a lovely day!

  2. I'm so glad the blog reached you, and other past readers of ink on paper. The book you have was the predecessor of this daily alphabet blog, but when I got going I found that I wanted to add a lot more variations. Let me know what you find useful, as there's still a little time left for special requests.
